    2405FPW keeps going into standby

    Hey peeps,

I was wondering if you nice people could help me out with a dilemma i'm having.

Whenever I try to run a game for example Battlefield 2 and it fully loads my monitor will instantaneously go into standby mode, from there on after I have to do a hard shutdown then startup my computer again. I've tried waking it up, unplugging the monitor, tried different power management profiles and uninstalling (and cleaning) my nvidia drivers without any improvement at all , note this also happens with other games.

I am at a loss here and have trawled through a lot of forums to see if any other people are having the same problem but without any success. I'm hoping you guys have any other ideas I could try?

    Thanks In Advance

Are you using refresh rate overrides for certain resolutions ?
Go into your Geforce tab, then refresh rate overrides on the left hand side. Make sure its set to Applications control refresh rate".

I'm assuming you need coolbits to view that setting as I can't find it ?

Weird - do the games have safe mode or refresh rate/res override?
Try setting the res in the registry or config files for the game as 640x480 or something?
Very strange but sounds like res or refresh rate issue, got any other monitors to try on it?

Well i've tried ruled out the possibility that it was a refresh rate issue by trying rivatuner and reforce to set the maximum rate for each resolution. I've also tried it on the other dvi port and with an old crt of mine but the same symptoms occur.

I've come to the conclusion that it is the graphics card. I've now changed the 2 molex to vga power connector that I'm using to the one that came with my graphics card to see if it's a power issue of some sort. It seems to be working fine so far, though I don't know if it will happen again.
