Fog in CS: S

I really want to disable this, but nothing seems to work! I hate it. It probably won't grant much of a performance increase, but it looks awful!

I thought it was just fog_enable 0/1 in console for disable and enable ???

i know there are others like

fog_enable_water_fog 0/1

Although if i recall you wont see it untill change of map unless you do it before its loaded up ..

Hope that helps, but i dare say you might have tried this already ..
