I had to recover data from a raid 0 setup that had lost the partition. Managed to recover everything using Ontrack Easy Recovery Pro. If you use the data recovery then the Format Recovery Tool it should do the job.

The only thing is that you will have to transfer all the data to another hard drive or network drive. There are other tools that will actually restore all the partitions back to there original state. I would say transfering it to another hard drive is the safer option.

Thanks for your reply. The problem I have now is that windows won't even let me access the drive! So I'm unable to do anything to it...

Thats not a problem if you use Raw Recovery mode then it will search the drive for a recoverable file system even if windows can't access it.

Also try running Disk Management "diskmgmt.msc" in Start>Run to see if windows even detects a partition.

That will teach you to partition your drive without backing up your data! I'm assuming you were resizeing one of the partitions or something?

Yeah, stuipidly I was resizeing to make it bigger for my drive image! So my backup nearly ended up going!

I've managed to get pretty much everything back now so thanks for your help. Can you think of a more reliable way to back up data. I currently have 2 X 300GB HDD. I have the first one split into 60GB for OS and Apps, and the rest for my documents. Then the second drive has and image of the os and apps and also has a partition for downloads etc.
