    Quick Excel Question

    Hi,

I am trying to plot a graph, which has 2 series of data (Rainfall and Wind), and I have used 2 Y-Axes/axis to enable them to be readable, by having their own seperate scale.

However I want the bars (I am trying to create a bar graph) to be side by side, and as soon as i put the 2 y-axis on the bars lay themselves on top of each other making it impossible to see some values, because the one bar is bigger than the other.

How can I get it so that the data is displayed side by side? the data is arranged according to days btw.

    Cheers

    Ian

One of the guys at work had exactly the same problem - I think its a "feature" introduced in the 2003 version. I've got no idea if he fixed it though - sorry. At least you are not alone!

lol - just tried it meself.

if you wuz desperate, could always paste it into PPT or Word as a picture, ungroup it, then move pieces around. of course, only a one-off solution

May be try making the graph in 3D?

I just tried and it did overlay on top of each other.

    3D seems fine though
Oops, it didn't work...Apparently it won't allow secondary axis with 3D.

How bout try making 2 different graphs, then shift the bars slightly for each of them?
3D might be slightly easier to use transparent overlay.

You need to use some dummy series - I believe that this will solve your problem: http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts/...OnTwoAxes.html
