ram advice

i am in the process maybe of buying ram off the forum, but i am lumbered with corsair xms ram which is fine but there isnt any point me buying lower timings ram like the ocz 2225 because the corsair is slower.. and i dont really want to have my motherboard full up with 512 sticks i woudl like 2 gig is that the best bet? and what is a great set? adicve wanted thanks guys

atm, two pcs, this one im tlking about though

asus an8 sli
opteron 146 @2.8
corsair xms 1 ggi runnig it at the 266 setting to make it stable and 187 mhz
7800 gtx @ 500/1.35
