Thanks Jaydflow for the advise on two steak knives to pull out the sd card.....
My Mom just removed the SD card wonderfully with two toothpicks on either side! One person can prop the computer with a flashlight while the other works the toothpicks. Try this before going with the super-glue method.
thank you for the many good and creative suggestions! thanks to the poster who mentioned the toothpicks; even though it didn't work well for them at the time.
Still nice that people are signing up just to say thanks though
i signed up to say thanks and LOL when i put it in i didnt here a click so i thought OH **** im suprised so many people have this problem. But if any of u did this for ur psp... just use a usb.
well, i'm one of the idiots that also got a memory stick pro duo stuck in my laptop's card reader, and wanted to thank this thread for being open. however i did not use any of the solutions posted, i believe this thread helped me with thinking of other possible solutions.
at first i tried using two toothpicks as mini chopsticks to pry the bastard out, but that ended up pushing the card in further. i then contemplated with the different options in this topic, while looking around the house for things to use and i thought of my master plan to free my laptop of the dastardly memory card:
i saw tape.
haha
i then proceeded to put tape on one toothpick, making a mini flag. i stuck that into the card reader, used the second toothpick to flatten the tape onto the memory card and from there it was a piece of cake.
thanks again for the thread. good luck to others that find themselves in this dilemma ^^
again....i registered just to contribute to this.
I used a playing card about 3/4 the size of the slot...i'm sure any card would work or paper, and slid it underneath the stuck sd card, then wiggled the playing card and the sd card came out with it. had to go back and forth a few times, but literally finished in 30 seconds. this is the solution somebody else (sorry i can't remember username) posted i think, and it WORKS. honestly don't do superglue, hairpins, etc, cause of the risk of damaging the sd card reader. luckily mine is still okay after i did all that, but so frustrating to have spent all day trying different methods, and this so simple and easy.
Thank you SOOO much!
I registered just to say thanks, pretty much the way to fix it is to use the memory stick duo adaptor, I bet you can find it online anywere it worked the first try
THANKS!!!!
Thanks guys !!! I used the toothpicks methods ... effective !! yella tc
I too have registered to say thanks for all the suggestions and thankfully not the only one who did this silly thing!
I would recommend to using strips of cardboard one thicker than the other and inserting between them and then slowly wiggling out while holding it upside down. Unfortunately I tried the nail file and may have become to aggressive so my slot is now damaged but I always had an adapter so thats the good news and my card is useable!
Good luck to everyone else who comes across this!
Seems were gonna need more toothpicks!
