    Messy XP upgrade!!

So had to do a messy xp upgrade on my pc.... Got stuck at 34 minutes, had some error getting past loading my creative sound blaster drivers... So went into cmd and deleted the group of wdma_* .inf files.. That belong to my soundblaster.

Now having trouble sorting the sound out... I install the creative drivers, but still it says no active mixer was found on the system. The motherboard audio has been disabled, so no conflicts.

Anyone any ideas? Would it be possible to get all the wdma_ files from another person with creative soundblaster on and simply put them back into my inf folder?

    Cheers

Would it not just be better to just back up your data and do a clean install?

Was it an SP2 upgrade version of XP? If not can you slipstream one in and try that (nlite is good)?
