when installed with the correct drivers some sata device's show up as removable becuase the sata spec allows for hot swap although i dont recommend it is the drive sown is your main hdd

glad it worked, like alsenior says above the 'remove hardware' aspect is by design as SATAII is hot swap capable, if u select this before removal it ensures all data in cache is written, also as alsenior says, DO NOT USE THIS FEATURE FOR OS for obvious reason

Apparently, if you do try it - windows wont let you because it knows thats the 'system' drive.

I noticed that even tho the ICH8R on my AB9 is SATAII you do not get the hardware disconnect option, only when usuing the JMicron or Sil controllers so it makes sense
