Wrong Place?

I may have put this in wrong forum, sorry. Try again here. ASRock K7VM2 mobo.boot virus detector??
Ive been having all sorts of problems, so decided on a reinstall of XP.BUT it wont install!! Whatever I try, it hangs on checking system, & gives "run-time error R6003-integer divide by 0". I'm told this is due to boot virus detector being enabled, but cant find any mention of this in the BIOS of my K7VM2.ASRock say there is NO boot virus detection on this board! Before trying the reinstall, the PC was constantly dropping IE, with the appcompat message. Ive tried a different HD, I tried using another PC to install it, but of course, that went OK, but wont work on my PC. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Al.

Could be dodgy RAM. Try using as few sticks of RAM as you can. If you get the same error with one, then try one of the other sticks.

Thanks Z80, but RAM seems OK. It was working OK till I tried to do the reinstall, then I got a new mobo to use till I sort out the problem, & the ram is OK in that. I don't want to throw the old mobo, thinking either the board or the processor- if not both- may be useful. Cheers, Al.
