What are the rules and requirements for running a competition.

I have some items I can give away as competition prizes, I have spoken to DR and he is ok with me running a contest but before I post to announce the competition I want to make sure that I the contest fully complies with legal requirements and that the contest is run fairly in an open and transparent manner. To that end I'd like to request a FAQ on how to offer prizes, how to conduct competitions and how to notify winners then distribute prizes etc...

I don't want to do anything that might create issues for Hexus, but I'm finding it hard to get answers to my PMs when requesting help and support on doing this.

Re: What are the rules and requirements for running a competition.

I have run a few independent forum competitions in the past :

    http://forums.hexus.net/general-gami...ml#post2462893

    http://forums.hexus.net/general-gami...-up-grabs.html

On the bottom of the page I put up a sentence for clarity stating it was run by myself and in no way affiliated with HEXUS

"This competition and prizes are being given by me personally (Ferral) and in no way has anything to do with the guys that run HEXUS. The 2 copies of the game are already sitting in my inventory ready and waiting."

Just to give you a bit of an idea

Cool, a disclaimer, I didn't think of that.

As I recall, I won a prize on one your competitions.

Watch this space, it's a bit late now, so hopefully tomorrow I'll get a question and details up.
