I was worried I might have to make a decision myself not to buy but luckily Mr Thompson knows better than me. I am so glad he can make my decisions for me.

I am glad there are so many of these people around to save us make safe, the free will of the people must be over ruled by these fine individuals and excellent moral standards to which people like us can never hope to achieve.

I will call the crusaders, thank you crusaders!

as has been pointed out again and again, including by the police, manhunt wasn't owned or played by the killer

it was owned and played by the victim

just in case jacko does his usual google-and-bitch thing and sees this, here's the short version:

Jack Thompson is a compulsive liar

Anyway, this is a strange thing for Hexus to cover. A bit like the front of the Telegraph today (no, i didnt buy it), which says that common headache pills put strain on you heart - if you take them all the time for about 2 years.... What I mean is: this isn't proper news, there is virtually no source from what I can see.

The following post is allegedly from a Man Hunt forum:
Huh? thats at the top of the Hexus article.

After a campaign of negativity bordering on hatred towards Rockstar Games, an "alleged" post on a Manhunt forum from the man himself claims:
The source Hexus used says a post by... Somebody claiming to be this bloke?...

Sorry, but this is a dubious story, although worth it for the post by Steven W.

sadly, random forum posts are a credible source for shock tampon j. when he's not trolling the joystiq comments area.

Jack Thompson is insane, and a danger to society

I know what you mean. Basically, I haven't seen the forum post with my own eyes as it appears to have been removed, but a number of sites were reporting that it existed. Of course, it could all be a load of bull, but I like to hear what Jack is up to, so I think this post was a bit of self-indulgence!

Wasn't the incident involving two teenagers in the UK linked to the game the other way around? They found out the kid that got killed was the one who played the game, the teenager that murdered him didn't own a games console.

Did he by any chance play a game where you are a lawyer who's constantly seeking publicity by jumping on any controversial bandwagon, scaremongering and basically trying to claim that none of us are in control of our actions if we play games, watch tv and listen to gangster rap?

I was listening to some of PLAN B's music the other day and have to admit when I saw a kid coming towards me on the pavement on his BMX, I really had the urge to push him off and steal his NIKE trainers, because that's what PLAN B would do because he's hard - NOT!

Of course, I wouldn't, but his music did make the thought cross my mind.

Similarly, after playing the Godfather and then popping down to my newsagents, I did for a split second think about getting the garotting wire out my back pocket and then making him pay weekly for protection, but of course I wouldn't actually do it.

I think games, music, films etc can stir up images, but for me, it's in a humorous way,

What and idiot. If he seriously wished for it to be taken as a joke then why make the noble gesture of offering up a charitable donation, thats just sick.
