Where did I call it co-incidence? I fully agree Intel are copying AMD, but AMD are copying Intel in more ways And no, I don't mean any software at all, I'm talking purely hardware/architectural.

I think the Hexus article is misleading if it's trying to suggest it's hard to distinguish between nehalem and AMD's offerings - the core architecture is completely different, despite AMD taking on many of Intels ideas on the inside and Intel taking on two of AMDs on the outside.

PS I like AMD too - I run one after all.

IF AMD are going to do anything I dont expect it for 2 or more years yet tbh, they've changed there direction slightly after the merge with ATi so I'd expect there engineers are messing with other things other than trying to out-do Intel for a while, same as Intel did, they were miles behind, they went a bit quiet, lost the performance crown then came back with something big, I expect the same from AMD, there pockets arent as deep tho so it'll either take a while or AMD will go down quietly.

I loved the thought of AMD catching Intel again real soon, but I can't see it.

My trusty love affair for Radeon's lingers....but I build AMD machines for tight budgets and using older hardware from people's previous rigs (DDR 1 from older AMD/Intel works a treat on S939) but as soon as DDR2 is in there.....Intel now.
Barcelona will prolly be great for buisnesses....but in retail Intel needs opposition soon....as do nVidia,
