What we managed to glean is yes, you'll miss out on the visual effects such as the motion blur, particle effects and so on BUT you will be able to play the game and see the vast majority of cool stuff like the physics in action.... but when you blow up that truck you just won;t see as much coming off it.

I've just had an extensive playtest of the first two levels and I'm wondering if some of the Crytek guys like having a giggle, I blew up a truck and got the clichéd single wheel rolling past out of the wreckage... I think it was just luck but it made me laugh...

Gah, alright for some eh? I hate you Nick
I spent hours playing Far Cry (and replayed it at least 3 times - which i almost never [ever] do with games) and can only hope this is half as much fun. With pretty graphics. And Physics. And Aliens.

Hehe, I know what you mean. The first game I installed on the new uber-gaming rig was Far Cry... it looks loverly at ultra high res with everything maxed.

Oh, did I mention I've been on Far Cry 2 today as well?

Yeah Far Cry is still a good thing to run - it looks great even after all this time! So Far Cry 2 - is it as pretty? Which engine are they using (that's the big mystery, right)?

This is great. BTW which single card is equivalent to a pair of 6600s? 7600GT?
