    Talking Clive Barkers Jericho Demo

The demo has finally arrived, pulling it down at the min. Been following this for a while now as I love his books and thought Undying was literally one that passed many by. Jericho looks extremely creepy and the engine is inhouse design, hopefully it will run better than Unreal Engine 3 on the PC!

Few different mirrors for it at the min but Fileplanet is still yet to get it. Fastest one I found is here :

    http://files.filefront.com/CliveBark.../fileinfo.html

Just a quick warning though, you must have a Shader Model 3 card to be able to run this one! I will not give in to requests for laundry bills either for soiled underwear!

    Agreed Undying was great!

Though no real problems with any UE3 game to date

Take a shifty at Clive Barker's Jericho on Xbox 360 & PC

If you can drag yourselves of Halo 3 for a few minutes, then you can grab yourselves a demo of Clive Barker's Jericho, which is well worth a look.

I played this at Leipsig GC - didn't really like it. The enemies constantly had the same animations and the action was just repetitive. Still that was only 10 mins of gameplay, I'll still give it a go.

    Re: Clive Barkers Jericho Demo

I played through the (brief) demo again - and you're right, it is repetitive but I kind of liked it for that. I'll buy it, and I'm pretty sure I'll have fun with it but I can see why people may dislike it for the same reason.

    Re: Clive Barkers Jericho Demo

For the size the demo is really short. Probably because of he long intro video sequence incorporated into it. Must admit though love it, atmosphere is really tense and using the different attributes for the team members makes gameplay a bit different.

For me it looks really good and plays smooth as silk on my Vista 64bit system (specs in sig) Everything maxxed out in 1280x1024. They have put a lot of hard work into optimisation and creating the engine itself. Wish I could say the same for Bioshock as I love that game also

Will grab some screenies as soon as I get a chance.

    Re: Clive Barkers Jericho Demo

Just got this as well. It looks, for my money, absolutely incredible.
Like the switching between characters thing. Don't like the fact that, so far as I can tell, you can't pick up new weapons and, for the default character, are stuck with a rifle and rocket launcher. Appreciate that that's why you can swap characters, to change weapons, but it's a bit of a pain in the ass. Spells are cool. Binding primary attack to right mousebutton is odd. Quite like the tomb-raider-esque "press right... press up... press down" sequences.

Blown away by the graphics though, seriously. If this can look this awesome on my 7800gt, why does crysis look so basic, I wonder?

    who is this game for?

the story is so diabolically laughable that it's for pre-pubescent teenage boys - yet the content is completely inappropriate for anyone who isn't a grown adult.

    she's a psychic blood mage... who's also a ninja!

he's a pyromancer... with a gun the size of texas!

and he's dead... but also not!

seriously, what a load of tosh.

I'm reviewing this at the moment and have to say I'm really not enjoying it so far (early days though)

Somethings buggin me. You know those monstors that explode when you hit the right spot. I recognise them from another game or something very similar. Any ideas?

One of the Silent Hills? Or the one with a spike for a hand is perhaps a little like Voldo from Soul Caliber, etc. Something like that?

Re: Storyline: Give me a crappy ridiculous story any day: rather that than "Stay At Home Dad 2: Adventures in Nappy changing". It's no worse than Doom, Quake, Suffering, etc.

Silent Hill rings a bell, I've been hunting around trying to find the a pic, but having no luck.

I'm going to annoy you by agreeing wholeheartedly. It's terrible, souless game with dreary locations and i'd have to say it plays/feels like a 'shooter for stupids' (something I usually reserve for HALO games). Voice acting is pretty good.. graphics are good too.. but it just lacks er.. fun. It's even got that tedious hit-the-right-button-when-it-flashes-on-the-screen thing which can sentence you to at least a few minutes of frustration as you die and the game endlessly flips you through it again (which feels like punishment) until you get it right.
Undying was wonderful - creepy, innovative and (oh yeah) FUN. This is awful.

    Re: Clive Barkers Jericho Demo

OK, I'm starting to go off this game. The lack of decent weapons is a real PITA. It's like playing Doom and being stuck with the pistol for the whole time, but shooting rubber bullets.
