    It sounds like it'll probably have some sort of password protection on it. So there's an easy solution to this... download it first and set your own password, that way parents/wives/significant others won't be able to change your settings.
    If you can't keep up, stick with reality...

    Presumably because it will have a password on it
    Why sabotage it when it can just be removed?

    Is the idea that by setting a timer to stop the kids playing too much GTA they might not turn into serial killers?

    Cuz thats what happens you know... some perfectly normal lad spends a few hours too long on a viloent game, and next thing you know he's a crazed madman.
