    Re: Apple iPhone comes to UK today

    The screens are pretty good.

    I've got to say I love the iPhone - the UI is fab and the product FEELs quality - better than a lot of the plastic feelings which most phones have.

    The Screen is exceptional - the issue I had was it isn't a biz phone and it's a tad bulky....

    The TYTNII is a bit of a dissapointment as a 'phone' as a multi function PDA its ace - the screen could do with being better

    The K850 is GOOD but the K800 will always be the king of that product line...

    The N95... slow and well didn't do it for me...

    That's the thing, nothing does email better - it's quick, stable and works well.

    For voice - I am thinking K850 - and then have a TYTNII for when I don't want ot carry a laptop...

    Re: Apple iPhone comes to UK today

    There's still not a phone that does it all.

    iPhone = great UI, great iPod, good phone
    Sony Ericsson = great camera, good phone, good MP3 player
    Nokia = good camera, good flexibility with symbian, decent all rounder
    HTC = great PDAs

    There'll be one that does everything one day, but who'll have their badge on the front?

    Though saying that, most phones that do everything usually create problems too. You can't beat the simple phones, a Motorola Razr does what it says on the tin and you can barely notice it in your pocket.

    Re: Apple iPhone comes to UK today

    I doubt there will be one that does everything - mainly because the definition of "everything" (i.e. the amount of functions) changes through the generations.

    General history of "Everything" for a phone:
    1. contacts, voice
    2. contacts, voice, sms
    3. contacts, voice, sms, mp3, games
    4. contacts, voice, sms, mp3, games, camera
    5. contacts, voice, sms, mp3, games, camera, moving screen with fingers
    6. contacts, voice, sms, mp3, games, camera, moving screen with fingers, GPS
    7. etc etc etc etc (maybe internet phone capability, email, other functions)?

    but, a PDA does everything, thats the whole idea, infinate extendability in software. my stand alone pda has been the best DMP i have ever heard, much better sound quality, infinately extensable memory by just switching flash cards, oh, and lets not forget a easily replaceable battery....

    Trouble with a PDA though Magnus is it's not always easy to find the perfect software to do what you want. In some respects Apple have a slight advantage there as although their package doesn't do everything, it does what it does do very well.

    I'm hoping to get a HTC TYTN II soon and hope to find some good apps for it when I get going.

    A ridiculous price for something your only paying for the UI, besides that its a very average phone.

    I have to say i'm disappointed with it
    HTC Diamond, Cannon G9. Apple Unibody Macbook Pro 15" 2.4Ghz C2D, 256 9400GT,

    Re: Apple iPhone comes to UK today

    Maddox's review of the iPhone a couple of months ago summed it up for me. (I'll let you guys go find it yourselves )
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();
