Check out the long list of features:

    - Cutting edge advantage for Gamers
    - Significantly sharpens reaction time
    ...
Er, does the sound reach your ear faster or something?

    £149 is far too much!

Re: Would you pay £149 for this mega high-end gaming headset?

150 quid can get you some very nice headphones - and yes I would pay that much for really nice headphones. 150 quid may be a lot of money, but headphones (and headset by extension) don't need frequent upgrades - chances are, they will outlast every other PC component including the monitor. If the PC-350 sound as good as a HD580 with the benefit of having a mic attached to it, then I would argue that it's well worth the price of admission. Forget the alleged gaming advantages - it'll be nice to have a great hi-fi headphone with the option to use it as a headset too. Come to think of it, I wonder if anyone has made a wireless mic attachment for headphones. I'd pay 20 quid for something like that.

The problem is, I wonder if (and somehow suspect that) Sennheiser is simply trying to bank of it's good name (well deserved for most part) by getting into the high margin 'gaming' market. And you are basically paying for something inferior to a mid-range-ish 80 pound headphones for almost twice the costs to have a basic mic attached along with the claims of gaming advantages. As a headset, the PC160 is good, but as a headphone, I don't think it matches their own PX100 or the Koss Porta Pro (both cheaper by a margin where you could easily get a separate mic).

£150 for gaming headset? No way.

For good hifi headphones, yes. If I needed some.

Seconded, why spend £150, when £40ish will get you something

I've been using one of these for a couple of years now - got the first version with the seperate amplifier box- so can connect x2 headsest (for watching movies etc etc).
Quality sound, loads of bass I mean loooads of bass, seperate volume control for all channels.

£100 saved to spend on whatever else you want............

But we don't know what it sounds like do we? I am sceptical as my previous post would suggest, but also curious. Sennheiser do make great headphones (their HD lines is every bit as good as the Beyerdynamic DT line), and if they made a headset based on the HDs then it'll be worth it. I do agree that if it's anything like headsets I've tried so far, then it's not as interesting.

im looking at getting a set of these to replace my speedlink medusa 5.1's now there under £100

apart form the utter lack of bass the cups are to small for my ears and they hurt after an hour of use.

anyone brought the 350's yet ?

Re: Would you pay £149 for this mega high-end gaming headset?

If I wear so inclined, I'd grab some proper audiophile headphones for £100+

Gaming headphones, I don't see the point- I'm sceptical of these 5.1 headsets too, rather spend the cash on a proper speaker setup so everyone else in the room can enjoy the film too.

That said, if money was no object, they look like a comfy headset.

Re: Would you pay £149 for this mega high-end gaming headset?

i have 5.1, but i also have trackIR and a wife who doesnt like to hear 20 cars screaming round the track with 20 of us yelling various abuse on teamspeak, hence the medusa 5.1, and they are quite crap tbh. trackIr is clipped to the headset when im gaming.

i guess i could go for a decent set of headphones but i need a good mic as well?

£40-50 is expensive for me, i'd be inclined to spend that and pocket the rest of the cash for a rainy day

Re: Would you pay £149 for this mega high-end gaming headset?

the problem is finding a headset to fit my ears, im tall so my heads larger than the average gamer, and i wouldnt class my ears as small so the hunt for a large headset led me here !

the other options the hd 280 headset and there twice the price
