Now I've just got to dig up a MacOS supporter and we can have a free-for-all. I wonder if my brother's about...
I'm just amazed that it took this long for them to realise that Vista was TOO EXPENSIVE!!!!
Dabs have Vista Ultimate at £330 retail and £108 OEM. I mean what are they doing?! £330 for an OS, are they having a laugh?!?
Vista should have been about £30/£40. Just like a game.
Yeah, yeah. The costs of developement, etc, but if they've already sold 100 million licences and at £30 a pop = £3 billion!!! And you can bet your bottom dollar that it didn't cost £3bn to develop!!!
I think MS' pricing is too high too - but 30/40quid? OSX clocks in at 85 and that has to support a fraction of the hardware.
Amazon list photoshop at £560.48 - which is just a fancy version of MS Paint right? The bastards.
You don't *need* ultimate either do you? Home Premium had everything I needed anyway (at er.. home). I've got ultimate because of what I do tho..
your all wrong Risc OS is teh roxrr and we wear jumpers that are bought in second hand shops with little leather patches on the elbows so clearly we recycle more, plus because we don't have girl friends we don't add to the worlds population

Aye, pizza and pepsi (spew).
Ok, ok. I found this article:
they ripped themselves off if you ask meAccording to The Seattle Times, Microsoft took 10,000 employees about five years to ship Vista. If each employee costs Microsoft about $200,000 a year, the estimated payroll costs alone for Windows Vista hover around $10 billion
And all because they didn't want DX10 on XP. I'm telling you, if they made DX10 for XP and made changes in XP SP3 to incorporate DX10 then no sod would buy Vista.
I think vista suffered from cronic miss management towards the middle of the developement.
I'd hazard a guess, that this might co-inside with the massive effort for SP2 of XP, which had major changes.
Features hemeraged left right and center. The product came late.
Fact is its a damn good OS, i've yet to have it crash at all.
But, i can't help but feal its going to be painful if we have to wait longer for the sucessor, WinFS type ideas could work very well with SSD's low latcencies etc.
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
So when is the next price drop? £30 seems like a reasonable price for Home Premium...
Wont do me much good, looking at getting it next month.
Was thinking of the 64bit Version - future proof & all.
