The upcoming Dell is rumoured to be an Atom, so that might well be a good option. I'd also bet on the Eee 900's price falling.

What happened to GPS, bluetooth or WiMax? I don't see any of them in the specs listed here? I was looking forward to buying this as soon as it came out, but dissapointecd about what it's lacking... especially the Atom CPU.
I'm definately not going to buy one now, I will wait for the Atom to be released, and then see what follows.

Every time I walk through PCWorld (I like a laugh some times) I'm always amazed at the diminutive size of the Eee's. They really are tiny.
The 7" screen does make them look a little like toys, but the 8.9" should make it look better as it fills the lid.
The size and weight has always been the main factor in wanting one of these. I've wanted an OQO since they were first released but could never justify the £1200 price tag. still can't. A sililarly sized laptop with Atom, a decent amount of storage and memory for £500? that sounds just about perfect to me
I myself will wait for the Atom and grab the Linux one. 20gb that'd be sweeeet.
I wanted an EeePC because of the size and the fact that there is no moving parts so I could be a little rougher with it than my proper laptop. I'm waiting until they release laptops with the Atom processor and it's below £300.
