Whether you like Microsoft or not. Gotta admit that they are great showmen and give the consumer exactly what they want.
They have the flair and style that just grabs attention and doesn't let go.
That sounds great but will it be availible in the UK
what will?
netflix movies i guess

There's quite a lot of interesting info over at Major Nelson too.(*edit*:I see this has already been covered in earlier news item... sorry!)
Being able to install games and read from the HDD, therefore reducing the roooooar from the CD drive, seems like a good thing. Or is it a cynical thing to get everyone to buy bigger HDD's?
Also, adding support for some 16:10 resolutions (1440x900, 1680x1050) is pretty handy too, especially for anyone using a PC monitor. I imagine it's simply scaling, but it'll put an end to picture stretching for folk that don't have monitors with an 'aspect' mode or similar.

tbh the feature of installing games onto the hdd is just a gimmick, even the 60gb hard drive would be full after about 10games, how will this affect piracy? people could just copy the game and then trade the game in/take back, this in someways is good as it will kinda make developers go for the pc again lol.
Good amount of announcements though.
16:10 support sounds like what i have been waiting for
You need to take the earplugs out then
I really hate the noise the 360 makes, when there are two running in my living room, its so nice on the ear when the machines are shut down
As for the installing onto hdd, i just wonder when the first forced install happens and everyone starts moaning about it on forums, ala PS3. But i have to agree with Bigblue here, its a cynical move my MS to sell the new 60gb and the reduced price 120gb, both at rip off prices.
You must have a way quieter drive than me Mine is awful, I thought it might be faulty, but the ones on display when I went back to the shop were just as noisy. I'd trade it in if I thought a new one would be better.
I'm sure it'll be similar to the PS3 and PC, you'll still need the disc in the drive to play the game, it just won't be getting accessed as much.Originally Posted by hicks12"
To me the big news so far from E3 is that sony managed to lose another big exclusive with FF13 being released on xbox 360 at the same time as it is on PS3.
It seems that all the Sony exclusives of the last generations are going cross platform whilst Microsoft are keeping their exclusives and even adding new ones to the mix
FF games are usually single console releases arent they?
Yes and no. They have content on all platforms, they are not exclusive to any one format. You can't assume anything nowadays. The cost of development is massive and they need to recoup their costs. The 360 version is going to be a port of the PS3 version, they just need to learn how to compress Blu-ray down to a DVD. I wonder if they will implement installing to the Hdd, that will cause an uproar
