"Heath Ledger's Joker is a brilliantly acted but very credible psychopathic killer, who extols the use of knives to kill and disfigure his victims during a reign of urban terrorism laced with torture."
Like I said before.. saying and doing (showing us) are two very different things. It's all implied not shown so I don't care. I would watch it for myself or gather a general opinion from those who have before letting my kids (hyperthetical kids that is ) watch it. 12A are normally disputable but they are the experts and are appointed to make these decisions.
Given the sheer amount of people who have seen it the number of complaints seems very small and insignificant.
"Would you take an 11 year old to see The Dark Knight?"
Probably not.. but again it's at the parents discretion. In fact although I couldn't have been stopped going to see it from a legal point of view (at the age of 12) , my parents may have objected to me seeing certain films at the cinema before they had seen them themselves back in the day.
In all honesty, I suppose I am quite biased. I was allowed to watch this sort of thing and play violent games like Duke Nukem 3D (but not beat 'em ups) when I was very young. I don't have a burning desire to go and knife my friends but I do feel prepared for any pending alien invasions.. you know
Loved the film, Heather was a better Joker than Nicholson, when I think of Heath now I'll think of the Joker and not the pretty boy he was in 10 things, Nicholson will always be "Johnny" to me..
Didnt seem like it was as long as it actually appeared to be, we came out of the cinema at 1:15 from the 10:30 showing, there was no realy slow down or drag to the story and it kept you interested from begining to end.
Like the Jokers pencil magic trick.
The fight scenes weren't as long or as viewable as I was expecting, bit to dark too see much of the KFM which I was a bit disapointed with.
Was suprised Harvey Dent/2 Face was killed off pretty quickly.
End of the film see's Batman becoming the bad guy, not sure how this'll pan out if theres another film, not read any of the comics tho so maybe theres ways in and out of things regarding that.
