    Subscription would be the killer for me, I'm planning on moving to Linux when I upgrade my PC but will be dual booting with Vista, if Windows 7 is good performance wise I will upgrade, providing it's a 1-off payment and not a subscription.

    For me (on my dev box) it's:

    Clock
    Quad core performance monitor
    Top processes (most cpu use)
    Dilbert
    Clipboard gadget

    As an organisational aid it's useful tis all - that and the gadgets are then forced to be a certain size (and thus more uniform). I won't lose sleep over it tho
