As someone who is waaay too lazy to bother trying different browsers, I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts on what makes one browser worth choosing over another.

Does it really make any significant difference to your overall internet experience?

Must admit I liked the chrome layout/interface. very little in the menu/tool bars really maximises the screen space for the actual web page.
Although I'm still a fan of firefox and opera

I've tried Chrome for a while sometime ago, and it is the perfect lightweight browser. Fast and resposive.

Re: News - New Google Chrome beta brings new features, greater performance

my fav browser is still opera
    cant wait for opera 10!
fast browser and comes with everything I need bultin.
I kinda like chrome but dont really trust google. the google update process is an autorun entrie and also a sechduled task. why cant it just check for updates when the browser starts?
I did use unchrome to help ease my privacy concerns but i still ditched it after a few days. the other reason is that im happy with opera so I didnt see any reason to keep chrome.
    Iron isnt updated often enough.

I dont really like firefox much these days. its to popular and i dont really see why. i dont really use any addons and the browser on its own doesnt really have any benefits over anyother browser.

I do like compitition thou. the better chrome gets the better opera gets!

Re: News - New Google Chrome beta brings new features, greater performance

Google Chrome was pretty impressive when I first tried it but had problems rendering some pages properly (mainly AJAX pages), I'd have too many concerns about privacy to use it permantly anyway.

I'd agree with lodore, can't wait for Opera 10, the alpha release is impressive with a 100/100 acid3 score and the new Presto 2.2 rendering engine. I don't use Opera's built in apps (Mail/IRC/BT) but still find the browser the best to use.

just in case someone wants to try beta, its not as simple as just download and go.

you need to change the download channel to the beta one. full instructions here - http://dev.chromium.org/getting-involved/dev-channel

I love chrome's ability to shift tabs into a new window by dragging it out.
It's less memory and CPU hungry then firefox and especially IE
However integrated quicktime clips crash it!
    Woohoo now Assistant Manager!

I have an issue with Chrome and Ebay. Doesn't work too well when trying to create your own auctions. Will try out new release and see if it is much improved, otherwise I thought it was quick, simple but with all the modern clever things.

Re: News - New Google Chrome beta brings new features, greater performance

Seems like I'm being a mug sticking with IE - maybe I'll try out Chrome... Or Opera 10 when that comes out - sounds like a popular choice

Re: News - New Google Chrome beta brings new features, greater performance

I tested with peacemaker and the new chrome is only a few % faster, new features sound good though.

BTW, I've uninstalled flash and java on this PC now and all websites are much much faster.
