Will be intresting to see how easy it is too install on my Q1 Ultra, and get the touch screen working.

And i've failed, got to go meet a mate of mine at 6 just down the road, so i've admitted failure.... again.
Couldn't even get the power management to control the fan properly.

Progress for me, found entries at the Ubuntu Wiki that mentions issues with Intel GPUs.
If anybody else has issues, follow this guide to revert to the 2.4 Intel Xorg driver - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReinhardTart...telDriverTo2.4
Worked for me, now to play about

I still have a couple of issues - there's no obvious way to tell the wireless card which channels to receive so my usual european-centric channel 13 can't be used. Setting the network to a more American 1-11 fixed it. Also grub doesn't get on with Ext4. But with those things discovered it's okay so far. No problems with the ATi driver for me - auto detected and pulled down great.

Can't connect to wireless networks using my Netgear PCMCIA card. I've installed it using ndiswrapper and it finds available networks and everything, it just never manages to connect.
Running with Ext4 is truly a terrible idea anyway. It's been well known to cause data loss in cases of unexpected system halts (kernel oops, power cuts, etc..). And as you found out, grub doesn't support booting from Ext4 yet. I'd usually use ext2 for separate /boot partitions to work around things like that though.
99 squid!!
How come? Tesco's web site shows the price as £289!
But how does 9.04 run on your new Acers?

Don't know about their AAO's but it's pretty sweet on my one. Only downsides are (at the moment):
- Neither card reader seems to work, (haven't tried the old boot-with-a-card-in-the-slot trick yet);
- WLAN light not on, and the signal strength seems less than with Linpus;
- A couple of error messages in the dmesg output - something to do with the Intel gfx drivers I think;
- Flash performance (using the Adobe player) from YouTube (etc) not the best;
All in all, this is (so far) a good upgrade from Linpus for me, and major kudos to Canonical and the Ubuntu devs for a job well done.
The UNR release went on pretty easily, boots (and shuts down) pretty quickly, and is nice (responsive!) in use. All the major items work (although few could work slightly 'better' maybe). It gets my recommendation!
Just wish some kind soul could point me at a source for these £99 AAO's that folks claim Tesco are doing!

Just installed 9.04 Netbook Remix on my Dell mini-9, updating from 8.04 that was originally supplied, went like a breeze after downloading the update on a different PC and making it bootable from a USB memory stick - full instructions on the Ubuntu site, along with a list of known issues with lots of netbook models. WiFi connection was immediate with no problems on 2 sites so far. Still to try 3G via dongle, but there's a new menu option in Network Connections for 'Mobile Broadband' that looks useful.
I really like the new-look desktop, very intuitive and functional. This is very cool software!
Put the netbook remix on my q1 ultra, doing a lot better than the 9.04, the touch driver worked straight out of the box (holy sh!t).
Problem is the interface for the touch is frankly awful, we are talking a level which microsoft was at in nt 4. You can't drag? WTF guys! Lets not even get started on transcribing or scrolling.
Also it is slow, we are talking sub Vista speeds here, i think this might be the HDD in the q1 ultra, but without superfetch like technology, opening a program menu takes some time. The overall power management seams to keep settings cranked, i only got 2.5 hours on the 3 hour battery. However that is a test of 1 so my milage might vary (unlike the regular, the netbook has earnt a months time on the device).
I'm also frankly appauled by the icon interface, plenty of them seem badly stretched, its not that well thought out imo.
