This is great to hear and i'm sure it will be common practice in a year!

Many companys are still focusing more on just making their TV's smaller and more pretty over the actual image, it's good to see Sharp are trying to develop new ways to improve the visual quality we see day to day.

So it's a bit like CMYK, but with RGBY?

Well that's immensely interesting, I'd love to see what the RGBY colourspace looks like and how CMYK and RGB map into it.

Of course, you could never create a CMYK TV because you can't emit black

Didn't Sharp announce this earlier last year and now they can re-create the colour of 'sea-water' with the technology I remember being given as one of the examples.

This looks interesting but with all the promised advances like 3D and OLED screens won't the tv market be full of competing standards? Don't the big manufacturers all have a different proposed way of showing 3D? This does sound like a simple to implement idea though, but then next year there might be a ROYGBIV tv. What happened to those Mitsubishi LaverVue tvs?
