Very good indeed. Got to wait for the 6970 spec and price before jumping in though.

I got a better deal off scan. £133 delivered (thanks to Hexus), XFX instead of Sapphire and same delivery.

I've used ebuyer before and they were great, but it's annoying having to pay for delivery charges when others dont (I'm kinda out of the way).

Anyway, bloody good job hexus and scan.

Ebuyer? To certain areas only. Considering I'm 30 miles from Glasgow I'm not exactly in Timbuktu but that's enough to disallow ebuyers free delivery AND their next day delivery.

It would appear the Sapphires didn't last long That page now shows XFX's at £151 and £195 instead.

Re: News - Major UK retailer lists shockingly-low Radeon HD 6850 and 6870 pricing

My friend preordered a sapphire one in the early hours today. He would have hooked me up with one if it weren't for limited to 1 per member. Eventually when I did manage to go on the website I found it was out of stock. I checked again while at work and it was in stock .... and as soon as I got home - you guessed it OUT OF STOCK. Needless to say I was none too pleased. Anyways I am glad now that I didn't go for the Sapphire because it looks rather plasticy whereas the XFX version has a certain quality to it - or am I reading too much into it. I am sure I read somewhere XFX provide limited lifetime warranty?

But yeh the low prices are good for the consumer Here in the UK we always get the bad side of the deal but for once we miraculously get amazing price-range for a new release. This is why I love ATi in the recent years (my previous cards being 4850 and 5770) because they give us great value, good performance and dare I say GREAT control panel? The green goblins would do well to emulate ATi/AMD.

Can anyone confirm if the Accelero S1 will fit the HD6850 ?

Noise is a very important factor for me whenever I buy anything. The XFX one seems to have a better fan but God knows if it's quiet or not!

It's very good that high-end cards are now using single PCIE power.
