Sound like AMD want to have not just the fastest single card around (already have the 5970), but also the fastest GPU as well. Thing is, after the R300, not a whole lot happened for a while: the 9800 and X800 were more like refreshes, and the X1800/X1900 didn't bring enough to bring a decisive win over nVidia's offering. Ironically, something similar happened in the following round. The 8800 crushed the competition, but nVidia sat on that architecture that they didn't have anything that compelling by the AMD finally caught up (38xx series). And the like the X1800, GTX280 series didn't bring enough, after all the time they had, to keep a decisive lead. And now we've done a whole circle. Are we going for another circle?
Slow down ATi and Nvidia, I am still on GTS 250!
I've said it before and i'll keep bleating 'till the cows come home that for me, all these cards are borderline ridiculous. It doesnt seem to take much engineering skill to deliver something "fast" when there are few limits on thermals, wattage draw, or physical size. Or cost for that matter.
I'm looking for a replacement for my 3870 (even though it still delivers the goods in games like Civ V at 1920x1080), but i want something that is perhaps smaller, uses less wattage, and cooler for my desktop to cope with, as well as giving higher fps.
Something like a 67xx whenever it comes out might be right up my street, and (i suspect) far more than enough for most people's needs.

I agree ith MSIC, I want a low profile passive card for my desktop.
Oh and if any card manufacturers are reading this (ha! fat chance) a duble wide card in low profile it perfectly acceptable, I have no other cards in my desktop. I can't be the only one that wants a card like this can I?
I know it's not passive, but PowerColor makes a low-profile double wide HD 5750:

I get the feeling I've seen some GT 430s or some such that are LP-DW passive too, but I can't remember where.
