Re: News - BT reveals over 40 market towns to get fibre broadband

    what on earth?!

Why not roll them out in the order of demand and cost?

That way each one would be used by more people, and as the cost of each roll out would be less they could invest it back in, so not only would more people be getting better broadband tomorrow, but even more people would get it the day after and so on.

Instead we've got the same old crap, politically interfeared with.

Why not just roll out the most likely to uptake densily populated areas, like London first. I've got to wait till April ffs!

I am sure Kidlington will not like being called a market town as it prides itself in being the largest village in Europe.

    \o/ Wallingford!

However, the camp is on the other side of the river, so whether it actually gets to us is another point but I have seen a couple of the large Openreach trucks around this week, so here's hoping!

Wendover services RAF Halton and Blandford has the Royal Signals camp, so I wouldn't be surprised if some of the those other towns service military camps. With the military trying to catch up technically, a lot more stuff is done via the Internet, but a lot of camps are out in the middle of nowhere and so it isn't really reliable.

YES SOUTH WEST DARTMOUTH, that means ill have it perhaps! .

Oh well, besides BT's shoddy throttling and expensive services i guess ill stick with VM (forced to... family wont move ). I agree its silly to do it this way, should be done via demand.

I know, but my line is only giving me 7mbit at best, channel bonding a wee bit longer I suppose!

The rational and logic behind my comments is sound thou?

Plenty of London and other major population centres that have highly utilised curve boxes should take precedence over piss ant little towns, you want to live in the sticks, have your cheaper housing, council taxation, well take some of the pains like a man.

    Well duh!

Its not been done based on demand, based on income generated from it which could then be used to expand and roll out faster.

This list is based on bull.
