Was tempted. But I think it is definitely overpriced at the moment - so will be waiting for it to come down a bit before parting with my hard-earned.

Also: waiting to see what GK110 brings to the table...

Can't justify spending that much and it is overkill for my 1920x1080 setup. Like Kix, I will probably go for a HD7850.

It looks a nice card but it is still too expensive IMHO. I think the most I would ever spend for the foreseeable future is £200, and TBH £150 is the most I have spent on a graphic card anyway.

Re: Features - QOTW: Will you be buying a GeForce GTX 670?

I'd definitely like a 670... but then who wouldn't. :-) But even though I could afford it if I wanted, I could never justify more than £200 on a video card even though my 5040x1050 sim racing machine could use a bit more horsepower for titles like rFactor2 and pCARS.

Most games still seem to run very well on my old sim racing machine with a 260GTX, which now serves as a "work" machine. Perhaps if I took the 260 out of it I might actually get some work done. ;-)

Re: Features - QOTW: Will you be buying a GeForce GTX 670?

I actually ordered a 670 Gigabyte Windforce 3x on launch day, for about £310 after discount and quidco, which is a great price relatively, then later in the cold light of day, I realised that the 5850 CF, coupled with the new (though second hand) i7 system is running GTA IV lovely, and can maybe do Skyrim with most things turned on. Those are the 2 that I am playing and cant think of much else that would warrant the spend.

So I cancelled the order and will get on with playing games instead. Will wait to see how the pricing stabilises and maybe nip in when the next iteration comes...

Thinking about it £200 would be my max, and £300+ is silly, especially for the single monitor setup I run

I can remember when hardware couldn't be fast enough, sadly, that's not the case anymore. I bet nVidia and ATI have sleepless nights over the lack of innovation in the games industry for the last 4 years.

So no, I simply can't justify the cost for performance I'm unlikely to notice.

The best deals are on the last gen hardware which can now be picked up for a bargain price....your money would be better spent on the 6950 @ £150 + £180 for a 256Gb Crucial M4 SSD, unless you're running a multi-monitor set-up that can justify the extra pixel pushing power!
disagree its not overkill and i doubt you are running bf3 in the highest possible settings at your res. if you are not then you are not running BF3 at its full potential.

Also go and try Batman game on highest possible setting. Or Arma 2. Or Metro 2033. Loads of games that even a 480gtx cant max.

a card is only overkill if your getting constant above 60fps on every game u play and its maximum settings.

Re: Features - QOTW: Will you be buying a GeForce GTX 670?

Would love one but I'll propably wait for GTX 660Ti as the GTX 670 is slower some 10-15% than its flagship, yet cheaper 100$. So if the GTX 660Ti will be some or close to 20-30% slower than 670, I'd see no need to go for 400& card. For my needs and single 1920*1080 panel, GTX660Ti should do just fine.
Also, the only game I play is still PC exclusive which still look great even on medium. (arma2)

Agreed, I've noticed poor frame rates in Skyrim when I turn up everything to "Ultra" settings on a GTX-570 at 2560x1440 - so a 670 isn't overkill for me, it's a good fit for my needs.

If you're monitor is less than 1920x1080 then it might be overkill... but 1920x1200 probably needs 670 to max out all games. The 570/580 seem to be getting a bit vRAM limited, which is why I'd also like to make my 670 a 4GB card.

It seems PC gaming is too expensive - I need to get a console, pronto!!

Only on hardware forums where uber hardware is needed for gaming at 1920X1080!!

Same here. Put simply those prices are a good 25% above what I'd be expecting for their performance; given that it's a new generation and its supposed to replace the last gen.

Re: Features - QOTW: Will you be buying a GeForce GTX 670?

Bought mine today defrayed most of the cost with the sale of my 5970 which i will be glad to see the back of i have had terrible sync and micro stutter issues with it recently with any game that plays at less than 60fps. Was going to buy a 680 gtx from days (with the sunny 25 promo you can get an stock kfa one for 385 at the moment) but ended up going for a £360 Asus 670 gtx dc2top from novatech instead. Doesn't seem to be much in the way of performance difference if your not that interested in overclocking it and the Asus cooler is awesome.
