Ordered one today, the Gigabyte Windforce version. I was going to get a 680, but considering how close the performance of the 670 is, you'd almost be a fool to go for that one unless you have very demanding requirements.

As for the vast majority not "needing" one, I'd have to disagree - at least if you want to play Skyrim with lots of mods. I still use a GTX 275 (which isn't that much slower than a GTX 570), but recently upgraded my monitor to a Dell U2711 and with HD textures and lots of other stuff added the experience is not brilliant.
