yup, exactly. and a million console games. Quick-fix gaming for the non-thinking overtakes proper game development and stunts progress.

I've got no problem with console games, although my XBox is currently gathering dust - thanks to Steam special offers - dammit!

As others have said, the majority of PC games these days seem to be warmed over console ports (and is it just me or is the amount of PC "tuning" getting less?). So why should I splurge £30-40 of my meagre budget to get the latest Call Of Duty, when I can get just as much enjoyment from something like Just Cause 2, which with ALL the DLC cost me a fiver?

Last game I bought in store was Sleeping Dogs (which I've not played yet) which turned out to be some kind of strange hybrid of optical disk and digital download.

These days I'm VERY focussed on getting the best deal - so unfortunately it looks like Sainsbury's and Tesco's are going to get a larger portion of my shrinking games budget. E.g. Tesco's were doing a promotion for ACIII where you could get bonus Clubcard points or 15% off - the latter sounding like an "offer I couldn't refuse", (and free delivery to boot).

Career status: still enjoying my new career in DevOps, but it's keeping me busy...

With the uprising of Steam over the past few years (well, for PC games of course), I could've saw this coming a mile off
