Well say its 5 - 7 years for a console lifespan potentially getting longer as newer generations come along I would say the 8th one would come along a good 30-35 years time in which case well would we care

These names always sound wierd to begin with, but after a short time people get used to it. Nintendo 64, Wii, Xbox 360 etc etc, odd at the start but now all pretty familiar.
