If I could get one of these past work IT it would be my next phone. I hate having to carry two mobiles everywhere, especially as the one they provide is a craptastic landfill android thing. Unfortunately we have to sideload a program to check our work email which is then locked to the IMEI, so its not as simple as just swapping the sim out.

You realise there's another way right? iPhones don't have this issue, surely they can't be alone in being able to perform a hard reset with a battery inside them?
Iphones don't hard lock? Or iphones don't have the issue of being reset? As about 5 other people have pointed out, neither do android phones (or in fact phones generally, my old HTC windows mobile ones had this functionality before iphone was even concieved).

I don't think that only 0.1% of HTC One customers suffer from battery capacity degradation. That number will just keep growing with time. I don't change my battery every day but I'd hate to spend more than £15 to replace a 1-2 year old worn out battery.

No SD and no removable battery were the two things that finally drove me away from HTC (been using them since their earliest winmobile phones)

    So they're halfway there

I would definitely be interested in this, or something like it, to replace my One X come April. However, with the release of the Nexus 5 and the Moto G at their respective price points, it makes me question why I would ever spend £450+ on a smartphone now. I would rather spend £160 on a Moto G and replace it three times than spend all that in one go than send it all in one go on something that isn't that much better.

This has been true of every phone I've ever owned, I don't understand why people keep trolling hard resets as a "downside" of integrated batteries. Holding down buttons to reset is such a simple step it amazes me people don't know to try, it actually resets my buggy dishwasher when removing it's mains power does not...

Exactly why I bought the Nexus 4 and why I don't give a fig about removable batteries, I'm just not going to keep it that long to invest in hoards of model specific spare batteries, external chargers, replacements etc.

I have an external battery pack which charges my phone AND my PS Vita - much better as it contains several full charges for each and because of micro USB will charge my next phone as well. It's not heavy at all... and if I left the house without my bag (containing battery pack) or my car (car charger) then I can't have gone very far so battery running out is unlikely to be a problem!
