Re: Features - QOTW: What are the specs of your main PC?

    Case: Antec 900
    CPU: I7 920 2,6Ghz @ 3,6Ghz
    Cooler: Thermalright true black 120
Ram: 8gb at 1450Ghz in tri channel.
PSU: Cooler Master silent pro 1000W
    Mobo: Asus P6T Deluxe
GPU: MSI N580GTX Lightning Extreme Edition (3Gb Gddr5)
    OS drive : 256Gb Crucial M4

    Monitor: Samsung T20, 1920*1200
    Sata 6Gb/USB3.0 card: Asus U3S6

Next year, I'm most likely abandonning it at my parents house and going with a custom watercooled rig with a broadwell cpu, sli gtx880 and probably a super wide monitor or litteraly a 4K one (G-sync is a requirement).

Re: Features - QOTW: What are the specs of your main PC?

Pretty good spec for me, if it was 2008.

    CPU - AMD Athlon X2 Kuma 7750 @ 3.1GHz (not Black Edition)
    RAM - 4GB DDR2 @ 920MHz
    MOBO - MSI 785GTM-E45
    GPU - ATI 4850 1GB DDR3
HDD - Seagate 500GB 7200.11 (hoping for an SSD soon)
    SOUND - Auzentech HDA X-Plosion
All wrapped up in an Antec Sonata II with Antec 550W PSU

Surprisingly capable for its age, should speed up a bit with a new SSD. I tend to play older stuff (like GTA IV, Bioshock, last gen basically!)

Pics! Come on pics! Group of specs lines is boring! If I wanted to see that, I would have clicked the drop down underneath YOUR system.

Case: Cooler Master 690 II Lite
    PSU: XFX 650W XXX Edition
    CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K @ 4.5GHz
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212+ (with a single Gentle Typhoon AP-13 fan)
    Mobo: ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3
GPU: ASUS HD 7970 Matrix Platinum
    Memory: Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) Vengeance DDR3-1600
    Storage: Crucial M500 240GB, Crucial M4 64GB, Samsung Spinpoint F4EG 2TB, Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GB
    Monitor: Dell U2312HM (1,920x1,080)
    OS: Windows 8.1, 64-bit
Keyboard: Filco Majestouch-2 (with Cherry MX Brown switches)
    Mouse: Logitech G500

Am I happy with it? Yes, in short. I picked up the M500 recently in an Amazon Black Friday sale, and the graphics card in October. Before that, the last major upgrade excluding peripherals was probably the CPU, mobo and RAM in late 2011, so I feel like each upgrade is lasting me a while.

At the moment I've got no plans for upgrades. As far as gaming goes, I'm at the stage now where I'd have to spend a fair amount to get any significant increase in speed, and it just doesn't seem worth it.

Am I happy with it? Sure, it does what I need, and has some upgrade headroom. The best upgrade I did was the SSD boot drive. I do a mixture of a lot of things, from web-browsing to gaming to photo editing, so I wanted to build a system that could support most of the latest technology, and when the opportunity comes around, to do some upgrades.

Next on my list is a good keyboard and mouse, likely the 6GV2, and Sensei RAW, then I'd like to get my hands on a Define R4 and clean up the cable management and make it silent. After that, I'll be looking to do a significant GPU upgrade - possibly a used GTX 680, or even a used 690 if I can find a good deal.

Pics: hmmm, seems I need to do a few more posts before I can post a link.... Be back in a few.
