The most FUN I've had in a game is either Shadow Warrior, Planetside 2 or or XCOM Enemy Within. Many of the big titles this year have been a bit meh.
Path of Exile
Hearthstone, hands down the most addictive game i've picked up.
I've spent more time on Hearthstone in the past 2 weeks than on any other game this year, which is a bit mad considering it's not even officially out yet.
Candy Crush comes in a close second, with Starcraft 2: HOS behind that..but in terms of new games this year? Hearthstone ;D
No one beats Blizzard for their addictive AAA games, and King seem to have got it down for the F2P/casual market right now.
Why these games over so many others? For me it's because my gaming has moved on to multi-tasking gaming. With those top 3 games I can sit there at a desk or on a sofa and watch TV, chat to friends and still play the game effectively. Less so with SC2 competitively but I still enjoy going after achievements etc in SP, where you definitely can play in a multi tasking environment. Other great games like GTA, Sim City etc require more involvement and more of a time investment, which is much tougher to achieve these days. Too many things to do at once!
The last of us, gt6 and hitman absolution

It's now my favourite game of all time.
Without a shadow of a doubt. The Legend of Zelda: A Link between Worlds. Fantastic game. Bought a 3DS XL just to play it, worth every penny. Shows that you dont need anything overly flashy to get back to the true heart and soul of one of the best franchises ever.
Honorable mentions go to Tomb Raider (Much love on this thread for that) and also XCOM - great game, so tense.
I got lots game I've played this year but I really like Saintrow IV (wanted to say GTA V but no PC yet) and BF4
For me it's Next car game demo, tonnes of demolition derby like fun!
Skyrim. Or was that last year? Still it's the newest one I've played.
Elite Dangerous, Alpha version.
Rayman Legends as I don't play many games such as BF4 or GTA, my phenom 965 along with radeon 6670 isn't up for high spec games
