The Surface Pro 3 will make a great laptop replacement for the road warriors craving personal productivity. Particularly those who read lots of A4 documents given its 3:2 aspect ratio display, write loads of handwritten notes and tired of lugging their heavy Macbook Air around town.

These days, choosing a tablet is about horses for courses. A 16:9 display tablet is a poor choice for reading but good for viewing HD videos and playing games while 4:3 or 3:2 display is great for reading documents but poor for watching HD 1080 video.

Really liking the look of this. Going back into education later this year so this seems ideal for taking notes! No more paper, unless it breaks or runs out of battery XD

Just had a chat with Microsoft online chat and asked if there would be a student discount as per the Pro 2 and he said that there should be, once the Tablet it actually on sale.. Good stuff.

Implementing Cortana would be a step in the right direction on the Pro 3 especially if it worked in conjunction with Word though i could see some folk getting stranger looks for a few years while talking to their tablet.

If you want something light weight, with processing power, and say if you like photography, colour fidelity, then the air can not coupe.

The air weighs nearly the same as a surface pro though and has a decent cpu inside.

Bit of a thread resurrection but is there any hint that Apple might release something similar? Or is it possible to install the Apple OS on it?
