Same here. Works a treat and has tailored controls for a variety of programs eg. Firefox, MPC Home Cinema, XMBC.

Logitech K400r. It's a clever little keyboard with the mouse button placements.

I did use my phone for a while which was fine for simple movie controls but was a hassle for doing any "pc" tasks.

Re: Features - QOTW: Which is the best HTPC controller?

I've got the Microsoft AIO Media Keyboard (very flimsy) and Logitech K400, but my favourite by far is the IOGEAR GKM561R. It has 3 buttons (L/R/Scroll) on the left side, and a trackball on the right. You grip it with your hands on either side, and use your thumbs to control the trackball and mouse buttons; super comfortable and easy to use. Amazon UK used to sell it but unfortunately they don't anymore, Amazon US still does though, ~£35 including shipping.

Another one with a Logitech K400. Trackpad/buttons can be used with the thumb when gripping it and it also has a handy left click button in the top left too. Battery life is also decent (8 months in still on original set).

Been using a Logitech diNovo mini - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-920-00586-diNovo-Mini/dp/B0012NIYSO - for a few years now.
Best looking living room keyboard by far as it's so small and doesn't look like one when not in use.
Is illuminated too , as mentioned previously it's a must for the living room htpc.
Not without its drawbacks though, cost being the main one, followed by a lack of function keys.

Re: Features - QOTW: Which is the best HTPC controller?

Lets see, well, I've had the original Philips MCE remote for yonks, well built IMO, looks the part, shame there wasn't one in black.

Then I've used a Logitech Dinovo Edge too and that is a piece of craftsmanship.

Finally, for when the HTPC has become a gaming machine of sorts, the Microsoft XBox360 Wireless controller has been a wonder!

I forget, also have a Harmony One I keep hidden away from the family, they'd break it. I'm sure I also had a Dinovo Mini too at some point.

I feel horrible for not even knowing what a HTPC was before this post.

K400 too, lot of XBMC skins don't like mouse control, but comes into it's own when web browsing or running UAE

Re: Features - QOTW: Which is the best HTPC controller?

I use a combination of a logitech harmony to switch between TV, Blu ray and HTPC and an obscure no brand keyboard/trackball combination that Maplin used to sell. The selling point for me is that it is the size and shape of PS controller, with a proper keyboard, mouse buttons and trackball. The build quality is poor, the keyboard has to be used with care but the design potential is clear. I do not want a keyboard cluttering up my sofa and what I have can be thrown around easily. Nearest equivalent would be Logitech di Novo but that is seriously pricey
