THE HUD screen used by many films, but in particular Tom Cruise in Minority Report.

It's not just how cool it looks.. it's the fact that I WANT ONE!!

Re: Features - QOTW: What is your coolest technology from the films?

The whole light sabre/helmet setup in the original Star Wars when Luke first started his Jedi training on the Millennium Falcon - or the tech used to create the monster chess board in the same movie. For the 1970's, that was still totally mind blowing - and not a lot since has really out done it.

That, and the hoverboards in Back to the Future... even as an over-the-hill adult, I still want one.

It has to be from "the 6th Day", the virtual headset that his mate has.

Definitely the food replicators from star trek.
Those teleporters aren't really teleporting you, they are doing a copy/paste and then deleting the original from the buffer!

The warp engine from Star Trek, jump gates from Babylon 5 and others, or the stargate network from the same named movie and TV shows.

As the TARDIS has already been suggested, I'm going to go with a cheap way to get around it - Bill & Ted's phonebox.

Also, it just occurred to me that Mission: Impossible predicted Google Glass.

Shadow Battlecrab from Babylon 5 (okay was not in a B5 movie). Supposedly dark and evil, it is beautifully elegant, efficient, organic technology which does make me wonder why choose a human as its CPU. ;-)
