I just bought one to finally replace my 560Ti, only 5 left in stock now

Comparing to the sale price of old cards isn't really going to work. I get the impression that most people want "new" cards available every year, and don't want the "old" range. People on a forum like this aren't going to care, but then we probably don't obsess over having a newer Ford Focus than next door regardless of how budget the model is because only the registration plate matters. So, old cards get cleared out at bargain prices, because that is what they are worth to the average joe in the street now.

What's the point of talking about VSR as if it was a new feature when it was already present on the past generation and soft locked on the previous gen (HD 7970 could use half the available VSR resolutions)?

I don't find it a big deal at all, now that we know about the Fury and Fury X. The only thing that would make this a big issue is a bad price. I want to see these retail at no more than the their current counterparts do.

    Re: AMD Radeon 300-series explored

When I'm getting offers of a Sapphire Radeon R9 290X Vapor-X for £215.99 in my email then is there really any point in a 390 retailing at £255?

Come on Hexus get those benchmarks out I need to know what they score is!

Yeah what's the deal with their being no proper reviews for these cards, yet they are 'in stock' in most stores?

    Re: AMD Radeon 300-series explored

There's a review of the Sapphire R9 390X almost finished.

The Cliff Notes version is that it's about 10 per cent faster than a stock R9 290X and just behind a stock GTX 980.

Guess I've been turning my 'Fury' to something else today.

I think there's a subtle hint in there somewhere but I just can't figure it out...

Perhaps someone needs to start a website - cliffreviews.com - that rounds up all the reviews when new hardware is released with a one line summary of the performance and value proposition. I've got enough projects on right now though, I'm afraid...

I have no interest in anything but the Fury cards after seeing those reviews. This is the worst case of rebrading I think I've ever seen... It shows how hard Amd are struggling these days Those Fury's better blow everyones brains out.. (I kept trying to reword that last sentence, but it just sounded dirty everytime lol..).

A £215 for a R9 290X Vapor-X is a real bargain price and you should probably buy it quick smart if you are looking for a card in this kind of performance range.

The R9 290 have clearly been getting undersold and prices need to go up IMO. If I was in charge at AMD I would have not let the prices fall so low, because they really have been selling themselves short while Nvidia have been hugely overcharging for some time now.
