Interesting idea. The looks will divide opinion I'm sure.. My wife told me to forget having one of them in the living room when she glanced over. I don't actually like the way it looks.

I can see it doing well with Corsair marketing behind it though and it's certainly far from a bad living room PC solution. I shall stick to the RVZ02 when it's released I think.

Highly ventilated, stylish, compact console design enhances living spaces
I wonder if I put this line through Google Translate, it would come back with:
We've made it so ugly it's got to be beautiful

    That should be a good'n.
I like my rvz01 and from what I've seen the improvements they're making for the second revision should improve building with it.

I think they've missed a trick not putting the GPU on a riser, that's what enables the Silverstone cases, and alienware x51 to be slim. Also means you now need GPU watercooling to make space when it's not really necessary.

Still, I think more stuff like this on the market is a good thing.

Wonder if they're just rebranding the Silverstone PSU

No mention of what storage options are available - I'm guessing a single 3.5" or maybe a a 2.5 and 3.5" each.

That said, I'm looking for something more in the storage-server line, although the looks of this could grow on me.

And how many vertically-arranged home theatre systems have you seen? TV unit behind me has Tivo, Sony home theatre system (Bluray), XBox and Wii and all of these are horizontal - although, yes, the two consoles could be vertical-ised.

Re: Production Corsair Bulldog DIY 4K Gaming PC revealed

Exciting, I do like the looks and it's Skylake mini-itx which a lot of people will be crying out for. The price point is good too. I hope they get some major interest and sell a load as you can't beat a PC for versatility yet people still spend top dollar on consoles. They're similar tech at this point, why not get the more versatile option and open up a smooth learning curve at the same time?

    (I've never owned a console)

I had a homebuilt gaming shuttle about 9(?) years ago. Revisiting that whole area with a Fractal Node 304/GTX 980 machine based that's waiting to be built atm

Re: Production Corsair Bulldog DIY 4K Gaming PC revealed

By the time you put all the required components into this and end up with a decent spec machine, it will have cost you quite a large sum of money, so obviously it is not a cheap option, nor a direct like-for-like alternative for a console, but it isn't a bad choice for a high spec living room gaming/media pc. As long as you like the aesthetics!
