Re: Apple launches official iPhone 6s Smart Battery Case

Interestingly, design-wise it's very similar looking to the XL battery pack* i had for my old HTC desire. Even i thought it was ugly at the time, but functionality > looks IMHO.
Have a similar XL battery** for my current samsung S3 (4600mAh instead of the default 2100mAh), but it's better in that the back is the same thickness throughout rather than an oddly-shaped lump, which is better both for looks and ergonomics.

I'll definitely always go for the XL battery option over the fixed battery+external battery cludge though. I hate the idea of having the most likely component in your phone that can wear-out/fail as non-replaceable without considerable hassle...

Re: Apple launches official iPhone 6s Smart Battery Case

Like others who own iPhones (rather than just slagging them off ) I don't have a problem with the battery. My 6+ lasts on average 2-3 days, as opposed to my S6Edge which barely manages 1 day. The 6+ is a work phone so is used regularly during the day, and the S6 is my personal one which gets all my texts etc.

The S6 battery is absolutely shocking - but the iPhone one is pretty good tbh.

Re: Apple launches official iPhone 6s Smart Battery Case

Looks like it supports the 6 as well as the 6s. I have no problem with battery life on my iPhone 6, but I can see this being useful if I ever needed to be away from mains power for more than a day or two and didn't want to carry an external battery pack. It does look a bit weird in the photos I've seen but probably looks better in real life. The point with the hump is that you probably won't know it's there when you're using the phone as the edges are still slim, and as others have pointed out it will still fit in docks.
