True, but there seems less of it. But the apps I have generally found useful and well written for IOS have been equally good on Android - when they have been available.

It's all about barrier to entry. Good companies make good stuff on both platforms most of the time. developers that don't have much to spend go to android.

You just plug it with USB then do some checking in dev tools and it works. Sounds like something that could really help debugging mobile issues although chromes emulation is pretty decent. It also allows you to mess with mobile only features such as vibration (imagine getting a vibration when someone replies to your thread) and i believe there's a way to send notifications to a phone through the browser to achieve the same effect.

Re: Apple iPhone X 'the biggest leap forward since the original iPhone'

BTW anyone looking to get an X have a look at Apples upgrade plan, comes out about £8 cheaper than EE for example if you get it on there and a £14 sim from Three that gives you 12gb data, the upgrade plan also comes with Applecare accidental damage cover.
If you dont need Applecare (have insurance already) then its a good £20 cheaper than a standard contract.

You also get a new phone every year with it which is nice.

90% sure this is the way I am going when its released.

Re: Apple iPhone X 'the biggest leap forward since the original iPhone'

Also I think what people forget is (Especially on a PC enthusiast forum) is that to a lot of people a phone is there only computer, so looking at it like that when we drop more than that on PC's / Laptops and have a phone it doesn't look to bad.
These people buying a iPhone X is like people here buying a 1080 Ti but here we will be like "Nice card mate, dat FPS" ect

There are just so many more life affirming things I could do with £800.

Fair enough, for people who's only computer is a phone though I don't think its to bad.

Rumoured BOM price for the phone puts its profit margin at less than a standard device, will have to wait for a teardown for that though, I cant imagine the mini Kinect in on the front was cheap.

I think it depends what you are using it for.

I quite like my OP5 because the ludicrous amount of RAM means I can keep lots of chrome tabs open and not have them refresh. This is a device that's less than half the price.

I wonder how the emoji thingy works? Unicode doesn't cover mixing facial expressions (AFAIK), so does apple expect you to send an MMS every time?
