I was looking forward to the 11 series this year in preparation for buying a new PC in Q1 2018, this would have been perfect timing. Now it's going to be the usual nail biting wait for hardware to be announced and released as the end of financial year runs out. AMD did a great job of taking the fight to Intel, but unfortunately they didn't even graze the green team :-(
Because being significantly faster at the top end and significantly more power efficient everywhere else for roughly the same price across the board wasn't good enough. RTG can't catch a break.
one of the product that will make no sense to buy.
Still not going to compete with AMD due to the lack of Adpative Sync support. Gsync is too expensive when the competition is free.
It's sad because its something there isn't really a need for it's just for people that need to stroke their epeen
Even if I had G-Sync or Adaptive sync it wouldn't bother me in the slightest. Sure, yeah, it does something but it's all really Marketing to buy new crap. You want the card that'll get you closest to the minimum of 60fps.
P.s. I LOVE when a new card hits as you can then buy the cards below it for less on eBay
You want to outmaneuver Vega? Easy! Just lower your prices.
Got to assume this will replace the normal 1070 and come in at the same price... I don't think the gap between the 1070 and 1080 is big enough for all three to co-exist.
Obviously not an upgrade for current 1070 owners, but a nice bump for those doing a proper upgrade, and it gets nvidia ahead of the RX56.
However, if it was me, I would still get an RX56 so that I could buy into adoptive sync without G-sync price premium.
people who have 4K LED monitors are those types who can 'easily' afford a GTX1080
