QOTW: Do you like RGB lighting in your PC?

Not fussed, I can mentally pretend it isn't there.

My daughter has a PC in her bedroom, she covers the LEDs with blue tac. I tried finding her a mouse that doesn't have any LEDs on it, but it is really hard. She puts her mouse in a dark bag to get to sleep at night because with the PC powered off there is still power to the USB ports so the LEDs remain lit.

If her power supply has a power switch on the back, simply turning it off and on again (after the PC has shut down) will turn off any external hard drives or peripherals that were still getting power.

Lightning is important if you have a custom build, maybe a water loop, and glass pane on one side. I can understand one color... maybe a subtle mix of two... but that rainbow look some builds have is just awful to me

I happen to think inflicting suffering on sugar-coated cartoon characters designed to market sugar-coated toys is actually quite a worthwhile hobby... the same could be said for whiny MMO Noobs!!

So I'm paying for a feature I don't want or need, and which I would turn-off in the bios anyway.

So?

The same could be said about everything I buy - I don't need PS/2 ports, two separate Clear CMOS buttons, twin SPDIF or Firewire or ESATA ports, or the six different multicoloured audio sockets, a 1394 header, or half the other junk my own motherboard comes with.... But I'm sure someone somewhere does and again, I have no choice over whether I'm paying for them.

And the point is?
I'd rather concentrate with what is displayed on the monitor than what is happening under the desk.Flashing or glowing lights that aren't in-sync gaming lights are just a distraction i'd rather development and design when into improving the product or reducing the product cost.

The only RGB product I have actively chosen is an RGB keyboard as one can highlight specific gaming keys so a very function design purpose. As far as other products I would choose to avoid lighting if there is an option.

I was going to make a joke about a forum war, with those enjoying colourful black cases on one side and plain whites on the other, but it went horribly wrong the instant I thought of it and even in my own head I banned myself!!!

Not for me. I want a case without windows because it's best at keeping the RF inside the box. One of my other hobbies is ham radio, and I don't want my computers to interfere. An opaque case means that lights are a useless waste of energy and money.

Well I am not at all interested in flashing lights in my PC or LED lit components even if they do sync with music. Waste of time and effort by the manufacturers of motherboards, RAM or anything else as far as I am concerned. Great for those who want it, but I am afraid it is a "feature" that I will never use. I prefer cool, quiet, powerful and understated.

Video card and AMD heat sink fan, keyboard and mouse has some and make it look nice. I do not approve of LED overkill. If done in moderation and with style.
