Nope I've re-read it. To get non Now TV channels you will still need a box, and a Sky Q box at that it appears

In which case I can suggest an anatomically implausible place they can put it, as far as I'm cincerned.
Sports is pretty expensive on NowTV. Keep an eye open in the supermarkets for one of the bundle boxes: http://www.argos.co.uk/product/7255009
Tesco and Sainsburys tend to stock them, and they often turn up half price. They come with a voucher you can start using any time you choose, I have kept one for about a year before using it.
Last time I had sky broadband it was ok apart from the garbage router...

Is Atlantic not available via Now TV?
What's the point then? If you've already got a Q box connected why would you need a broadband based solution that achieves what you've already got?
This.
This is also good advice. We keep one without a sub in the guest room, as I player, more 4 etc all work without it.
The sports cost depends on your usage. The only sport Sky carry that I care about is England test matches and Peterborough United football matches. My football team is rarely on sky, maybe once or twice a season. In that case paying £5 a game is a reasonable cost to me.
Equally for test matches I can't watch the says when I'm at work so odd days don't bother me. A one week option would be nice though.
It's not cheap, but £11 for a week's access isn't horrendous when you look at the other options (spend the entire week in the pub, or actually drag myself bodily to, say, Old Trafford for five days paying £45 a day....). It's the kind of one off cost I'd be happy to pay (I certainly wouldn't bother keeping up any monthly subscriptions, since I don't actually watch any television any more ).
Not really odd.
NowTV is a cut price service. No way Sky are going to include everything, that would be odd marketing.
The new announcement is a full service but over IP. If you want the full Sky user experience, that means a Sky box and Q is the current platform.
I don't know how much of the back end they share, but NowTV and Sky are different brands and products.
According to http://www.nowtv.com/watch-sky-sports-online a one week Sky Sports pass is £10.99. I reckon that's a reasonable price to pay to stream all five days of a home test
Virgin is going to upgrade everyone to a V6 box. We're currently with Virgin and the V6 box is pretty good to be fair, with 4K output can record 6 shows at once etc. etc.
I know of many places now that will not allow you to install a Sky dish at all. Most new builds it's not allowed and blocks of flats etc. can prove difficult. Giving the whole lot over to IP is simple - the shows are already stored on a server this just makes them accessible. As they own Now TV this is the budget offering, Sky will be the premium offering and probably only worthwhile if you go with their fibre broadband too (broadband probably marketed as free) in a financial sense. It's all about getting more customers. Remember that stuff like the F1 will be Sky only from 2019 with all the kudos they get from that. Won't be long (IMHO) before nearly all sport and movies will be over on a pay tv structure

Looks like you can buy a week for £10: https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-and...78580-pdt.html
Sorry I thought we were talking about the articles news that sky would be moving all their stuff to over IP and was wondering why you'd still need a Q box in that context. Think I got my wires crossed.
I didn't realise that option existed. That'll do for the test matches nicely then.
