Oops, sorry multiple same posts and cannot see a delete button, damn twitchy finger.
Anyone know how to completely delete a post when you mess up like this?

Back around 2000, I started doing all the office work for a friend's business and was constantly getting frustrated with only one CRT monitor. So I ended up with 3 so I could spread the work across all of them without having to constantly swap windows.
This is when I first fell in love with mutli-monitor setups.
Although I cannot afford it as I am now on a disability pension, I would love to have 3 x ultrawide (either 21:9 or 32:9 aspect ratio) curved 4k or 5K (or whatever UHD resolution is required for this size) gaming monitors with something like 144Hz and either freesync or G-sync (depending on the graphics chosen). Maybe a couple more features, but these are good starting points. But not only do I have the problem of actually getting enough money together for the screens, there is the added cost of setting up a high end PC with enough power to drive them all.
If I had the money, I may even look at an extra screen positioned above the center one - for example - so I could see above when flying, or for use as a secondary screen with game stats, et cetera.
And to top it off, I don't even have a monitor at present after my last one was stolen along with my PC. Now I am stuck with just a old TV which is not really the best for gaming with lag, artifacts and other display glitchs, plus a NUC. The TV was never designed for this sort of use and the NUC is definitely underpowered for gaming.
Now I am off to do some daydreaming - if only I was a rich man..........

I tried twice to use a dual monitor configuration, and always back to single configuration.
Now I'm using a Dell 29" 21:9 and I love it!!
I've been running 4 x 24" (three on bottom and one on top) for a few years, but wanted to try out ultra wide, been running with a single 34" ultrawide for just over a month and not looked back yet!
i have 2 x 1080p monitors and i want to change them with 2 x 1440p 144Hz 27" monitors.
But to run 2K monitors i need a new GPU like a 1080Ti and look at the GPU prices right now ...
I could not do my job as an IT Architect without two screens. You need to be able to create and research at the same time and it is so much slower to work on a single screen. I also use two screens for gaming but am looking to add a third screen when finances allow.
I used to have 2 monitors when I used to play Eve Online a lot, and my last workplace had 2 monitors for developers. It was very helpful.
I have this dilemma now actually, I have a 24 1080p 144hz panel, only TN but really pretty good, I was going to get a 27 1440p catleap 144 but it came faulty and couldn't be replaced, now I have the refund I am thinking of a 28+ 4k HDR panel, I can keep the current monitor for gaming (very rare now) and use that one for productivity.
Anyone run a large 4k with a 24 1080p? Does it work ok? Also any suggestions for 4k HDR monitors, preferably with freesync, would be appreciated. Sorry to derail thread a bit.

how do you spend your time online? (Hexus link)
I use 3 x 22" BenQ monitors running off a single gtx1070, use it for gaming and mutlitasking, awesome playing stuff like ats, ets2, eve online etc.
absolutly, just wish nvidia would bring Nview back to the consumer drivers again, only used for workstation cards![]()
I use x3 vertical 16:10 Dell 24" ultrasharps for work. Vertical screens make far more sense when dealing with code and documents.
I've got a couple of standard 16:9 for home use where media consumption rules. Although I hope to move to a 21:9 curved screen when they become affordable.
I play on single monitor and work on three![]()
3 at work (and I'm still having to swap stuff around).
2 at home: 27" QHD as the main screen and old 22" screen as a secondary - so typically a game on the big screen and the browser with some info, email etc running on the secondary. Use the big screen for photo editing too.
I wouldn't want to be constrained to just the one screen but the "secondary" really is just that, so it probably won't get an upgrade until it dies.
And they do die. Had three go kaput in the last 8 years. (One to a power surge in my g/f flat, and one to a capacitor or similar getting to the end of its life. Gave fair warning though, that thing whistled like mad in the last few months before it finally went. The third was at work, and that was a proper bang with smoke out the back. Bye bye Fp2008)
I use two monitors, with one display used purely for Spotify or similar programs.
More than one monitor I consider cheating when it comes to gaming.
I would like two but can't even afford a good one right about now.
Used to have multiple monitors, until I moved to QHD with a card capable of driving it.
Don't need anything else.
I do have a 1280x1024 Dell on a wall bracket at the side of my desk with VGA & DP inputs for testing rigs, but it isn't hooked up to my main rig.
Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes; after that, who cares?! He's a mile away and you've got his shoes!
