Re: QOTW: How many TVs do you have at home?

2 in my room (14" portable with analogue so I can C64), dads got 2 (1 in his PC room, 1 bedroom), sister 1, mum 1, uncle 1. so 7 in total.

and also 5 computers with 1 monitor each, and 2 spare monitors in loft. 7 monitors too.

so if you count PC monitors as TVs if you watch iplayer on them. I have 14 'TV screens' in the house.

Just one but monitors would be a very different answer.

3, living room, kitchen and bedroom. Then monitors all over the place.

Re: QOTW: How many TVs do you have at home?

Used to have zero. I resent paying the BBC licence fee (there's some "animals behaving badly" or something on BBC1 being advertised. Remember the glory days of "Yes Minister" and other such well contemplated, clever programming? Now you have endless panel shows full of mates / enemies of Ian Hislop) for the rubbish they now provide. I got on just fine for 4 years without a telly and the only problem I had was the threatening letters which accuse you of being a criminal for not owning a telly. Now I pay half towards it for the missus as I've moved in. I honestly can't remember when I last watched the BBC.... old BBC programs they've sold to other broadcasters, yes. Nothing recent.

We have two tellies which are almost exclusively used to watch stuff on Amazon Prime / other catch up services. It's exceptionally rare that the service used is the BBC. What I used to do was to buy the programs I wanted from the BBC store - I'd pay for what I watched (Robot Wars...) and still save money. I once had a spat with Dara O'Brien on Twitter. I said I didn't pay for a licence and he accused me of stealing. I pointed out that the stuff I wanted to watch I paid for from the store or bought the DVD (usually second hand from CEX) which included many of his shows and Mock The Week. He ended up thanking me for my custom.

Frankie Boyle was less kind. I offended him and he blocked me. As did Doug Stanhope. Both have lost my custom. And any respect I may have had for them as frankly, they deal out such abuse to people that if they can't take it, they are just hypocritical.

Sorry, was this about tellies? I may be mildly drunk. I have two.

I did this for 4 years and ended up watching lectures on physics, psychology and so on off the t'interweb. I actually read some books, educated myself and also acquired a drink problem.

I'd recommend TV removal for anyone who is suspicious that it rots the brain.

One, plus a TV tuner in the PC so I can listen to the news while I work.

Two. On in the lounge and one in our bedroom. Plenty of tablets and PCs around the house so no need for any more really.

Two. Only because I added a TV in the office last year for Android testing.

None. Just a monitor, a tower pc and 3 laptops. Plus a projector for films.

Re: QOTW: How many TVs do you have at home?

Technically two, but one is used exclusively as a PC monitor/console screen by my brother, so just one really.

For the remaining TV, 95% of it's use as an actual TV is by my mother (and my dad when he was still alive). If it were just down to my brother, his wife and i it'd spend less than 10% of it's power-on time as an actual broadcast/cable TV, the rest being console gaming/online streaming...

If i had my own place, It'd be none. I almost never watch Broadcast TV, the very rare times i do so, i watch it online...

None. Projector is main livingroom entertainment on a 100" screen, monitors everywhere else.

Re: QOTW: How many TVs do you have at home?

Four (ish): one is only connected to a Now TV box as there is no aerial in that part of the house, two normal widescreen TVs (42" & 30") and then a PC/monitor which is used for a Sky Go account.
