It's what you do with it that counts!

Re: QOTW: What size is your PC chassis?

One Midi Tower with mATX board (and plenty of space), one full size as I wanted 5No 5.25 bays. Loads of room which is great but it is a big old thing. I hadn't missed the full size and vowed not to go back there, but smaller cases typically now only have 1-2 5.25 bays tops. It just doesn't work for me that.

Large Tower (Xigmatek Pantheon) from when I needed multiple RAID0 arrays when working on VMs and video from Home.

Now almost empty with 2 NVMe drives on the motherboard and a single SSD in the case.

I have an ATX case but I want to try mini-itx but it holds back a lot of restrictions.

All of them are ITX now - even the kids' PCs.

My main rig is in an NCase M1
    Server is in a IW-MS04
Spare PC is in a Evolv Shift

The kids rigs are in a Hadron Air and a Core 500

ITX is fine so long as you don't want ability to upgrade.

It limits your upgrade options. It doesn't remove them.

Re: QOTW: What size is your PC chassis?

Last 2 have been mini itx. A fractal core 500 then a define nano s because I wanted just that bit more space for decent airflow. Wouldn't consider anything bigger than that case though

Too few ports for me. It makes upgrading substitutive rather than simply additive. Love the size however - so portable.

Re: QOTW: What size is your PC chassis?

How many ATX PC builds have you seen? Huge chassis, acres of wasted space and a single GPU.

The vast majority stay that way - many choose that size because of FOMO, and still do nothing with the wasted space.

Full Tower, can fit every type of motherboard that way (including SSI EEB according to specs). So no need to swap a case or have a restricted choice upgrade path.

Re: QOTW: What size is your PC chassis?

Matx mid towers for a while now, best trade of between size and capacity. Single GPU and at most one add in card, and at most 2 disks (one SSD). Cases aren't super compact and temperatures are fine with decent case fans moving the air without too much noise.

Still got the old Lian Li full tower though it's relatively narrow so cooling and access are considerable worse that the mid towers.

Re: QOTW: What size is your PC chassis?

    That's a very personal question

I'm proud of my little mITX Fractal Design Node 304. It takes a full ATX powersupply and most full sized graphics cards, with well-placed ventilation. I suppose I could go smaller but this sits well behind my monitor on the corner desk. Only air-cooled at the moment but there's potential for a radiator in there. Cable management is important for good air flow but that's getting easier and easier with all the smaller and modular elements these days.

I don't think I'd ever go back to a tower, as this amply covers my gaming/design needs.
