Its happened to other sports outside of football,ie,international cricket leagues/series which was on free channels. Both Sky and BT Sport outbid them,so you have to pay for their services.

I pirate football matches and have no shame or regret about the matter. I simply wouldn't watch it if I had to pay for it (above a certain minimal fee) and I highly resent putting money into the hands of the likes of Rupert Murdoch or even contribute more to the insane wages that footballers and agents get paid, let alone condone the rising prices that people have to pay. The most salient argument I consider against my stance is that it's unfair on others to have to pay for what I get for free, but then again, no-one's forcing other people to pay those high prices, I don't exactly get a high-quality product (streams drop in and out, run slow etc) and I'm subjected to the advertising that runs with it anyway.
Given I know a fireman with a digibox they use in the station to watch films and sports, maybe the police should look closer to home first.
Thank god I do not follow football, but yes loads of people so this and it has become more about the money than the sport.
