Tomorrow I will be at CTS. The guys at Quiet PC forwarded me some pictures of what I have to look forward to at their booth.
We first saw the TNN300 silent case from Zalman at CeBIT. Unfortunately I wasn't there to witness it, so I look forward to this opportunity.
Aesthetically, the TNN300 looks much nicer than it's bigger TNN500A brother. Of course, while it looks good, it is the cooling solution that makes it unique.
Look ma, no fans! Everything is cooled using either convection, or heatpipes. Even the PSU is fanless.
To add to the sweet sound of silence is the sight of what you can actually run in this case. Despite its complete lack of fans, an Athlon 64 3500+ (Winchester) will run happily according to the spec sheet, as will a 2.8C P4 Northwood (no mention of Prescott, oddly). The VGA cooling solution should work with most cards posessing GPU heatsink mounting holes.
So, you can run a pretty slick system in a completely silent case, the only two moving parts being the hard drive and optical drive, which, if you choose carefully, can be near silent too.
